Work based on van Gogh's painting “Blooming almond tree”.

diameter: 33cm

technique: applique with raw edge, free-hand quilting and embroidery, fabric inks and acrylics

materials: recycled cotton, flannel, on the back I used leftover cotton fabric donated to me, zero-waste

The work was created at the end of spring, when the dominant colors are browns, grays (when the weather is lousy) and greens (when the sun shines). I was very hungry for stronger and more energetic colors. This red seduced me with its strength.

Flowering almonds are a symbol of eternal love in Greek mythology - how appropriate a theme for spring.
